RULES FOR WRITTEN ENGLISH

 

1.       Don't use no double negatives.

 

2.       Make each pronoun agree with their antecedent.

 

3.       Don't use commas, which, aren't necessary.

 

4.       Verbs has to agree with their subjects.

 

5.       About those sentence fragments.

 

6.       Try to not ever split infinitives.

 

7.       Its important to use apostrophe's correctly...

 

8.       Always read what you have written to see if you any words out.

 

9.       Correct spelling is esential

 

10.     Avoid Alliterations.  Always.

 

11.     Prepositions are not suitable words to end sentences with.

 

12.     Avoid clichés like the plague.

 

13.     Eschew ampersands and abbreviations, etc.

 

14.     Contractions aren't necessary.

 

15.     One should never generalise.

 

16.     Foreign words and phrases are not “a propos”.

 

17.     Understatement is always best.

 

18.     Exaggeration is a million times worse than understatement.

 

19.     Analogies in writing are like feathers on a snake.

 

20.     Who needs rhetorical questions?

 

21      Anadiplosis is unnecessary – unnecessary and affected.
